Rules & Regulations
-
Only youth enrolled in the URI Rhode Island 4-H Program are eligible to exhibit.
-
All exhibitors must follow the current URI Rhode Island 4-H Exhibit Guidelines. Department-specific NRI 4-H Fair instructions posted here are supplemental to those guidelines.
-
Exhibits must be set up by the 4-H member or by another 4-H’er in the same age group if needed. Parents or other adults may not set up exhibits.
-
Setup: All exhibits must be set up between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Thursday, before the fair begins. If this creates a hardship, please contact the Exhibit Hall superintendent by July 20 to request alternate drop-off arrangements. Late entries may not be judged.
-
Pickup: Exhibits must be picked up on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Premiums may be picked up from your supervisor or in front of the poultry and rabbit barn under the tent. Exhibits may not be removed from the building before 3:00 PM on Sunday, the final day of the fair. Exhibitors may designate another person to pick up their exhibits and should make sure that person has a complete list of items to be collected. If prior arrangements are needed, please contact the Exhibit Hall superintendent. *After 5:00 PM, exhibits may be picked up by contacting Shelly Fitzgerald at the poultry barn to arrange pickup.
-
All other rules are contained in the current RI 4-H Exhibit Guidelines. Please note that any NRI-specific space allowances and entry limits listed on this page take precedence over the general exhibit guideline limits where they differ.
-
Cloverbud exhibits will be accepted but not judged. All Cloverbud entries will receive a green participation ribbon. Cloverbud exhibits must fit within one of the listed classes.
-
Theme or topic exhibits, whether individual or club, must not exceed 2 feet deep by 2 feet wide.
-
Final decisions on exhibit questions rest with the NRI 4-H staff.
